mixed feelings about my stay
limited choices laundry service
i was a bit disappointed there was no on-site restaurant. getting breakfast delivered to the room felt a bit impersonal, and the choices were limited. also, i found it odd that a hotel of this supposed caliber didn't offer laundry services. i ended up searching for a laundromat nearby, a task i didn't expect during my travels.

poor guidance shellfish allergy
the breakfast service disappointed me as there was no restaurant. i did not know i could not choose my breakfast beforehand. the japanese style breakfast included shellfish and my allergy was not accommodated that first day. the staff did not help with restaurant reservations or tourism guidance.

excellent stay near gion
spacious room peaceful setting superb location
the room size felt spacious for japan. the setting was peaceful near gion district, therefore walkability to sites was easy. excellent, the location proved superb!
the hotel kept balcony lights on until around midnight, so i could not open the curtain at all! people outside would literally see everything in the room, it was really annoying.

the hotel provided boxed breakfasts, and i could choose japanese or western style. the japanese breakfast included a variety of local dishes, each offering a unique taste. i found the bento box breakfast convenient because it allowed me to eat in my room.
